Emily & Zac : Wedding Pt. 1

When we arrived to start photographing Emily & Zac’s wedding day, we were immediately greeted with lots of hugs & smiles. And really, the whole day just continued like that. Emily was one of the happiest, most easy-going brides we’ve ever photographed, and she & Zac together were just THRILLED to be getting married and celebrating with all their friends & family. Even a bit of rain and a cooler-than-expected wind couldn’t squash their spirits. 🙂

I’ve said before, but it’s worth mentioning again… Emily & Zac are both members of the United States armed services. Zac has served in the Marine Corps, and Emily is a nurse in the US Navy. When they booked us to shoot their wedding, it was via Skype from Afghanistan! Spending time with this amazing couple just threw even more into the light for us what absolute heroes our service members are. This couple has given so much of themselves to protect our country, and it was an absolute honor to be able to capture this happy time in their lives!

Today, we’re sharing our favorite images from the first half of their day, which took place at St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Dallas. Enjoy!

I absolutely LOVED these bridesmaids dresses! So perfect for the early fall.

As we were about to start our portraits of Zac & his groomsmen, Emily’s 5 brothers delivered the groom his wedding present… or, well, a photo of it, anyway. 🙂 The TSA tends to frown upon flying with handguns! He was pretty excited about it!

Ceremony time! St. Rita’s is an absolutely gorgeous church… even with the restrictions on where we could be, there was no shortage of beautiful angles for photographs of this ceremony.

Mr. & Mrs. Tuggle!

Emily’s parents hosted a reception at their church immediately following the ceremony, for guests who’d be unable to make the dinner/dance later in the evening. It was such a nice, relaxing time for the bride & groom to get to mingle with those who came to see them from all over the world!

Be sure to come back tomorrow, when we’ll share our favorite bride & groom portraits, and some killer moments from their Aldredge House reception. See you then!
