Mack and I had such a great time with Jennifer. She contacted me way early in the year with a plan to get her wedding dress all grubby, and then used the date on the calendar as an incentive to get back into her dress.
Well, the day came… and came just after she got back...

jennifer : trash the dress
the wait might kill me…
I read a lot of photographer’s blogs, and I can always tell when they’ve found a client that really inspires them. A client that sets them free to really push creative boundaries and try different things, knowing that they’ll appreciate the results. Clients that light up in front of the camera, and make the job...
bride in the lake
I can’t wait to show off all the pictures we got from Jennifer’s Trash The Dress session in Weatherford a few days ago… Can’t. Wait.
Until that full post next week, hopefully this will whet your appetite for awesomeness to come.
Happy weekend, everyone!
underwater bride
I’m so excited to share these.
Christian, one of our favorite 2009 brides, was brave enough to be the subject of a completely experimental underwater shoot with Mack and I. She even bought a dress from an antique store just for the occasion.
The results are something I’m really proud of. They’re not the greatest underwater bridal...
abi & matt : bride & groom
Abi & Matt are, so far, one of our favorite 2010 couples. They were so sweet and laid back in regards to their big day, and we were super stoked to get to work with them again!
We were able to get some great images during the main event (which you can see here and here),...
not quite a repost — tami’s bridals
Happy Saturday!
I’m taking a break from posting the picnic shoots, but I promise, the last three are super-awesome-wonderful, and will be blogged on Monday and Tuesday . I’ll probably even throw in an extra image or two, since those lovely couples have had to wait a bit longer to see their pictures.
Today, we’re shooting the...
the best kind of beautiful

Still, there’s a generally accepted kind of beautiful woman. The kind with glowing skin and shining eyes and fantastic coloring and gorgeous hair. Really really beautiful on the outside....
McGowan Images retouching example
Hey kids!
It’s been a while since I did a “behind the scenes” post, and when I was going through the latest bridal portrait session, I found a great example I wanted to share.
While I in no way need my clients to be experts on all things photoshop, I do believe it’s good for people to...
breath of fresh air — simone’s bridal portraits
Simone is one of the 2010 brides that Mack and I are especially excited about. She and Garrett together are a ridiculously fun couple, and their San Antonio wedding in June is sure to be a highlight of our summer.
She’s also just one of those people that’s easy to photograph. It honestly has nothing to...
color makes my heart happy
The groundhog warned me that winter was never going to end this year. Every time I think we’ve caught a break… I catch myself enjoying some nice 60 degree weather… the forecast tells me there’s more snow coming. Oh, woe is me and my lack of sunshine.
Luckily, even on gray cloudy days, there is color...
