Between cars overheating, challenging schedules, and finally a lying ratfink of a GPS, Nikki & Forrest’s session with us almost didn’t happen! As it was, they arrived 45 minutes later than we expected, so we were all scrambling to rush and shoot before that gorgeous sunset light went dark. It worked out perfectly, though, since Nikki had decided only to have one outfit for their portrait session. I am in LOVE with the shots we were able to get, even with the rush!
Observant blogstalkers might recognize Nikki & Forrest from a previous blog post… Nikki is the sister of Whitney, who’s wedding we shot in Hawaii a few months ago! Nikki & Forrest have been together over a decade, and they joke that their families have just given up on them getting married. I, for one, am not giving up. They’re just too perfect together not to make it official!
This session was worked-in around Forrest’s deployment schedule. I hope these pictures are especially important to the couple because of the uniform… even when it symbolizes what sometimes keeps them apart, it’s also such a huge part of their lives. Thank you both for the sacrifices you make for our country!
Sometimes the laugh that breaks you out of a pose makes for the best picture of all…
