Well, actually, that’s not true. I’m not a bad blogger. There’s just been nothing to blog since last we spoke!
Between a lovely Thanksgiving break and a few weather-related reschedules, it’s been a surprisingly laid back week around the ole McGowan homestead. Clients are getting packages in the mail, which I hope make for great early Christmas surprises!
But until Friday, Saturday, and Sunday’s sessions are ready to blog, I don’t have anything new to show you. Sad, right?
Well, this won’t be much of a consolation prize for those of you who are follow me on Facebook, but I decided to share a little personal post of a few belly pictures Mack took of The Bump and I earlier this week!
We still don’t know the gender of The Bump… the first sonogram gave us lots of wonderful news diagnostically, but otherwise told us only that we’re giving birth to a very stubborn child. But stay tuned, because if we find something out at our next sono on Dec. 30, I’ll share a name and nursery plans!
Until then, check out these portraits. I’m increasingly amazed at the beautiful work my husband does. It was my love for photography that started this business, and Mack has always been more about the technical side of things. But with every passing wedding and portrait opportunity, he makes it more impossible to hide beneath the “techie facade”. I’ve always said he had a great eye… now the world knows it, too!
After all… it takes more than a fast lens to make a preggo feel beautiful. Even before my pregnancy, I’m highly critical of myself. So when I say these pictures make me feel foxy, that counts for something!

This next one’s my favorite…

The following shot is Mack’s favorite, but I can’t decide if I like it better in color, or antiqued.

Mack and Jack will join The Bump and I for more family-style maternity portraits in February, by which time I should be good and huge.
And, as previously stated, you’ll start seeing baby pictures toward the end of April!
Once again, let me thank you guys so much for the outpouring of support and excitement you’ve shown my family. To know that I’ve connected with clients, friends of clients – even total strangers – on such a level that makes you want to follow our work so closely… well, it’s humbling! While I promise I won’t allow this blog to become over-taken by Bump or Baby related posts, the encouragement I’ve gotten from you to write about our personal lives is such an affirmation.
We didn’t decide to join this industry to be faceless part of it. We wanted to create relationships and shake things up. If you’re still reading, that means we’re doing it!
Hopefully by Saturday afternoon, I’ll have a family session or two ready to share. Then on Sunday, we’re shooting a Trash The Dress that’s going to blow your collective minds!
See you then!
