I definitely earned my piping hot Peppermint Mocha during Friday’s family shoot. The light and color in the Botanic Gardens was beautiful, but MAN, it was freezing!
The Strain family was so sweet, and so much fun. Even 3-month-old baby Hayley handled the cold like a total champ! That probably has a lot to do with the fact that she’s a Photog’s Baby, and is therefore used to having a camera shoved in her face!
Jennifer, of Jennifer Strain Photography, will be doing our family maternity portraits in February, so it was nice to get to know her on my side of the lens! The opportunity to swap sessions is such a lovely perk in this industry.
In addition to pictures of the entire family group, Jennifer and JJ also wanted some portraits of the two of them. They never got engagement photos done, so they had no fun pictures like this up around the house. Criminal!!

The image below was captured while the new parents were glancing across the sidewalk to check on their daughter, all snuggled up in the arms of her aunt!

Doesn’t this just melt you?? This is baby Hayley’s “Don’t Wake Me Up!!” face!

During wintertime in Texas, I get to work with the most beautiful light I’ve ever seen. The magic time between 4:30 and 5:30 is so gorgeous!

Another moment from the same pose I showed on yesterday’s Super Sneaker…

And lastly, Jennifer totally workin’ the camera:

Thanks for trusting me with your precious family, Jennifer! We’ll see you in February!
