Lucky light — Allison & Scott’s anniversary portraits

Allison & Scott drove out from Arlington this past Saturday to run around the country with me, and capture some images to celebrate their 5th wedding anniversary. I love it when couples take the time to get sweet pictures taken during their marriage. Often, after engagement and wedding photos, couples don’t have pictures taken again until they have children! Love is worth celebrating anytime!

All Saturday morning had been cold and wet. I’d have gone ahead with the session even with drizzly skies and 40 degree temperatures, but it’s not the easiest thing in the world.

But wow, did we get lucky! Literally 10 minutes before the session was to start, the sun peeked out from behind the clouds, and warmed the world up to a cozy 55 degrees. I had brilliant light, great country scenery, and a gorgeous couple to work with. It doesn’t get any better!

Here are a few of my favorites from this session… all taken within 2 miles of my home in Morgan Mill!

Doesn’t Allison have a great smile?

I adore a couple that’s good at snuggling…

My favorite from the session… oh man. Everything about it just WORKS!

Below, you’ll see I busted out my desaturation technique again. I use this sparingly, but when a shot calls for it, I just don’t have a choice. This one SCREAMED “please work your desat magic on me!!”

With laid back boots and jeans, I thought one of my old favorite props would be a perfect fit. MAN, I love this truck!

Thanks again, Allison & Scott, for coming out to play! I hope you love these shots as much as I do, and that I’ll get to work with you again sometime!
