I’ve been asked a few times since Sunday, “Why are you working this week? You run your own business… shouldn’t that mean you get Christmas week off?” Well… um, no. Doesn’t work that way.
But I’ll tell you, if working during Christmas means I get to spend time with people this fantastic, then I’ll probably do it every year!
Meet: Danielle & David

Now, see, most of my couples are pretty sweet on each other during their engagement portrait sessions. It’s just the nature of things. I warn them that the way I shoot is very much about interaction between the two of them, and that there’s likely to be a week’s worth of kissing and snuggling in just an hour or two. But for Danielle & David, this was even more pronounced due to the lack of time they get to spend each other. When there’s kissing and snuggling, they’re going to be soaking it in!
David lives in Jamaica, which is actually where he and Danielle met. SUCH a sweet romantic love story. My own long-distance courtship only happened over a 4-5 hour distance, so nothing like them, but I still have a soft spot in my heart for couples who don’t get to see each other every day. In this couple’s case, they’ll only see each other one or two more times before their August wedding, so having a blast during their engagement session was ultra important!

David mentioned specifically that he likes my desaturated pictures, so I made sure to throw a few in the blog post for him.

This next image is prooooobably my favorite from their shoot. Probably. I reserve the right to change my mind.

A quick outfit and location change, and we spent the rest of our time together in Sundance Square, where many a McGowan Images couple has enjoyed making out in alley ways!

This last one gets me because of the wind blowing his tie. It’s the little things in life, ya know?

David & Danielle, thanks again for a lovely afternoon. You guys are the absolute sweetest, and I hope the time flies between now and your wedding. OH, and in the event that you decided to change the location to the island, rest assured… we’ll be willing to go!
