Lacy unfolded the letter slowly, thinking about whether it was a good idea to read it or not. Tyler had said she didn’t have to… he didn’t want her to mess her makeup up, and anyway, she already knew what his heart wanted to say. Ultimately, she opened the letter, she got one paragraph in, and her eyes welled up, and she said, “Take it away! I can’t read it!” Then, as she carefully fixed her makeup, she explained, “He did that on purpose. I didn’t cry when he proposed, and he’s been out to get me ever since.”
Because even on the wedding day, Lacy & Tyler were just… themselves. They teased each other, because that’s how they work. They were over the moon to become man & wife, but they knew the real commitment had already taken place in their hearts. They were building a home together, and a life forever, and last Saturday was just the official recognition of what their spirits had already said.
This gorgeous wedding was held at the private home of some family friends of the groom, in the Montserrat neighborhood of Fort Worth. It’s a truly spectacular property, and the couple that owns it was so gracious… we were honored to be invited into their home as guests and be able to capture this stunning event. The florals for the day were florals provided by Kate Foley Designs, with lighting and sound by DJ Delray. We’d originally planned to share this wedding just in one blog post, because we had another session scheduled to go up today. But I just could NOT get the wedding narrowed down enough for one post, and then, fortuitously, the session I mentioned was rescheduled. Well that just settles that, doesn’t it?![]()
Today we’re sharing some “getting ready” and wedding party portraits, as well as the breathtaking backyard ceremony. Enjoy!

Lacy’s simple gown fit her like haute couture, and her boots were the perfect personal touch…

Such a beautiful group of bridesmaids! All gorgeous girls, all completely fantastic for their friend on her big day…

Tyler is a police officer, and Lacy a TOTAL country girl, so she said she really wanted pictures with their collection of shotguns. I admit, I was skeptical, but come on… this turned out pretty awesome.![]()

Did you see the “Behind the Scenes” picture we posted on the McGowan Images Facebook Page earlier this week? The next image is the result. Worth it!

Tell me this backyard isn’t the PERFECT place to get married. You can’t. It is.

Mr. & Mrs. Sewell!

Congratulations, you crazy kids!
Come back tomorrow, and we’ll share lots of our favorite bride & groom portraits, and some lovely reception images. It’s the perfect way to end the work week!![]()
