Nicole & Cason : Wedding

Nicole & Cason had planned for themselves a lush outdoor wedding ceremony at The Orchard, a venue boasting acres & acres of trees and grass and hay bales. They set the date for the last Saturday in September, hoping for cooler temperatures but still that deep sunshine of late summer in Texas. With the brides’ mother being a fantastic florist, they knew the details they’d put in place would work together to give them the sunny, perfect wedding of their dreams.

And then, as you all know, it rained. And MAN, did it rain. It rained buckets and buckets all day for days. And I will readily admit, I was worried to see Nicole on her wedding day… scared for her that she’d be irreparably bummed, and really, I wouldn’t have blamed her.

And you know what I got? The OPPOSITE! This bride gave us big hugs when we walked in and said, “Isn’t the rain beautiful? It’s so romantic.” And from then on, there was not a worry to be found.

The Orchard did a fantastic job accommodating this large guest list despite the rain, and the amazing floral team from Classic Florist & Gifts worked it’s magic. It may not have been the wedding day that Nicole & Cason spent a year envisioning, but it was beautiful, and at the end of the day, this awesome couple was Mr. & Mrs. Jordan. And really, isn’t that what matters the most?

Cason’s reaction during the First Sight was so sweet… he couldn’t stop telling his bride how great she looked!

Did you see the behind the scenes picture on the McGowan Images Facebook page showing how I had to stand out in the pouring rain to shoot these portraits? Worth it.:)

A quick prayer before Go Time…

The bride & groom each brought soil from the land they grew up on, and did a tree planting ceremony to symbolize their new beginning together. LOVE.

Man & Wife!

Isn’t that cake STUNNING? Definitely a focal piece.

Lori with Melodies & Memories once again did a fantastic job bringin’ the party.:)

Congratulations, Nicole & Cason! Your fabulous attitudes made your rainy wedding day an absolute joy to shoot, and we were honored to be there celebrating with you. We hope that old wives tale proves true, and your lives together are lucky from this point forward!:)
