January and February have a tendency to be what wedding photographers refer to as the “dead zone”. It is during this time of year that I have the time to branch out and try my hand at sessions I wouldn’t normally prioritize. A prime example of this is the time I spent with the Oberon Brass Quintet a few weeks ago.
Anne, one of the trumpet players and the only female in the group, is a client of mine from last year. She’s been a devoted blogstalker ever since, and when the band she plays in was ready for new publicity photos, I was the gal to call!
I’m so glad I was able to work it out in the schedule to hang out with these guys for an afternoon. It’s not the kind of session I’ll add to my regular repetoire, but a change of pace is always invigorating, and they were SUCH fun.
I’ll definitely suggest that brides looking for a wedding band check into this group. If they can manage to look professional in a Deep Ellum wind tunnel on a 40 degree day, I’m sure they can handle anything a wedding throws at them. There are (or soon will be) audio clips on the website… so check them out!
Here are a few of my favorites:

Anne alone with all those boys reminds me of being in high school choir. I sang tenor, and therefore spent ALL my time with a bunch of teenage dudes. Poor thing.

Thanks so much for being up for anything, you guys! And remember me when you’re getting married, haha
