I’ve never been one of those people who had just tons and tons of best friends. I have lots of people I consider friends… people with whom I regularly communicate, and share a mutual supporting and encouraging relationship. But when push comes to shove, through the long haul, there are a few people that really stick out. I don’t need all the fingers on one hand to count them, but to me, they mean the world.
Annie is one of those people. We met working at a newspaper together in 2003 when we were both single. Since then, we’ve been in each other’s weddings, cried over each other’s new babies, celebrated successes and supported each other through tough changes. I thank God for Annie every time I think about her, because she is truly one of the people I credit for helping make me the woman I am today!
Annie and her husband Mickey are about as all-American as you can get. Mickey is a firefighter, and Annie is about to start her first year of teaching! I was so excited to be able to get family pictures for them on the calendar this summer. The lovebirds were joined by Mickey’s older kids, Jodi & Ryan, who I love to PIECES, as well as Annie & Mickey’s 4-year-old son Cade. This family is so very dear to my heart, and I know that’s one of the reasons this is my favorite family session ever.
We broke the session up so that the kids wouldn’t get bored. A little bit of the couple, a little of the whole group, some of each kid… lather, rinse, repeat. I found that it made the whole hour go by really smoothly! I hope you all love the pictures as much as I do!
Cade has known his Aunt Chelsea since quite literally hours after he was born, and if he had good hearing, he knew me before then, too. Still, mah man wasn’t interested in smiling for the first set of pictures. We warmed him up eventually, though!
Isn’t Jodi just beautiful! I didn’t touch those eyes in Photoshop… girlfriend is just workin’ with what God gave her!
Being photographed isn’t the most fun thing in the world for a lot of guys… particularly teenage guys. But Ryan worked it out!

We shot this session outside of Dublin, TX on the family’s land, and this tank bed was a great place to run and have some fun. Of course, it was bone dry… since Texas has recently become the Sahara.
Annie, my darling, you went and got smokin’ hot in this next picture. All that Top Model we’ve been watching for years is paying off!
This next family shot is FABULOUS. I insist that Annie order it huge… this is a mantle masterpiece right here!
