George & Danielle : Engagement

Danielle & George were one of those couples that we just instantly clicked with. When we first met them last year, they had very little planned about their wedding day… the focus was entirely on the excitement to be married. And even now, just three months away from the big day, with all the little details of their Dallas event coming into place, that’s still where the focus is. Being married. Being together. The start of forever.

We met the adorable couple in Dallas a few days ago and were met by a VERY brutish wind. After a nearly-90 degree afternoon the day before, the chilly gusts could have put a damper on everyone’s spirits. But instead, it just pushed Danielle & George further into each other’s arms… with the added benefit of giving Dani some supermodel hair.:)

Mad - Her outfits are spot on! Love that first necklace, and that sneak peak picture is SO great. If I’m right, those are the same Cole Haan boots I got not too long ago and I’m obsessed with them!! Cute couple makes for pretty pictures :) Congratulations George and Danielle!

Jenny Gainey - I cannot believe that time has passed so quickly!!! We are still so in love with our wedding pictures and look at them frequently. They bring back so many good memories and help us remember the tiny details from that whirlwind day! Happy anniversary to the other March couples too! :)

Ben & Vanessa Got Married!

Here we go, folks! McG’s 2013 Wedding Season is officially underway, and we had a fantabulous time celebrating with Vanessa & Ben on Saturday night. This sweet couple was married at the Belltower Chapel & Garden in Fort Worth, and clear blue skies gave way to a rockin’ good time under the stars.

We’ll definitely have more to share from this event on Friday, but there’s no better way to kick off a new week than with a sneak peek… amiright?;)

Amy & Jeremia : Engagement

Amy is one of those McG brides that really make us feel like rock stars… she contacted us before the date was picked, before the venue, before the ring was even all the way on the finger! She made it clear that her dream wedding wouldn’t be complete unless we were there, and we just feel SO honored that she & Jeremia are bringing us along on their adventure. We pretty much always love our job, but when our clients make us feel as awesome as Amy did, we extra-special love it.:)

We met with Amy & Jeremia in Fort Worth a few days ago for their engagement session, and we ALL got lucky with the weather. The day before these portraits, it was frigid cold and sort-of-raining and blustering with 40 mph winds… NOT attractive weather. But whaddaya know, the sun came out and it warmed up a bit and the light in these images is just exactly what we wanted.

Enjoy some of our favorites!

Amy & Jeremia’s daughter Bayli came out to play for a few minutes… she was a barrel of fun, and she’s going to be SO adorable at their October wedding!

This sweet couple genuinely enjoys one another’s company… it was very easy for them to love on each other throughout the session, and that made photographing them such a delight!

Another day, another client outfit I want to steal. Either I need a shopping trip, or I’m going to have to turn into a masterful dress thief!

Amy, you have awesome hair… and you’re cute as a button.

We know you two are so excited to move forward in this next phase of life for your little family, and WE are excited to capture it all for you! This year will be so busy with planning, but before you know it, you’ll finally officially be man & wife.:)

Blogstalkers, it’s time! Wedding season is upon us! McG’s first wedding of 2013 is tomorrow, and I’ll admit, I’ve got a few pre-show jitters. We’ll have lots of loveliness to show here next week, so don’t be a stranger!

Kurt & Carley : Engagement

Carley & Kurt are very newly engaged, and we were so excited to get to spend some time with them recently while the celebration is fresh. I especially love that they made a date day out of their engagement session… spending the hours leading up to picture time exploring a new city together, and just enjoying one another’s company. We were blessed with a gorgeous sunny afternoon, and I just LOVE the feeling in these images… spring is just around the corner!

These portraits were scheduled relatively last minute, because not only are Carley & Kurt newly engaged, but Carley just found out that she has breast cancer. She will be undergoing chemo treatments soon, with surgery scheduled in the future. She knows her body and hair are likely to change over the next few months, and wanted to take engagement portraits before all those changes start. To see the way Kurt holds her & encourages her is so wonderful. This couple has a long road ahead of them, but with such a strong & solid love for each other, and incredibly positive attitudes, I know they’re going to kick cancer’s butt. TOGETHER.

Carley’s bright blue dress was so perfect in this setting… I nearly stole it right offa her, but then she’d have had a long drive home naked, and I figured it might sour our working relationship.:)

The color of Carley’s eyes is just crazy gorgeous!

We had to hike through a few brambles to get to this spot, but it was so completely worth it. When we’ve shot in this area before, this spot was all completely underwater! I’ll never wish for a drought, but if we’ve got to have one, at least it uncovers gems like this!

You two are so adorable together. Thank you for digging out all that PDA and spending the evening with us. You are in our prayers as you embark on this new journey together, and we know you are going to be triumphant. We can’t wait to hear all about the wedding when you start planning!

I have a friend that beat breast cancer and another friend that just beat cancer for the 3rd time and it’s gone for good! About the dress – I did get it at Dillards after much searching, the brand is called Signature by Robbie Lee, I found it on the second floor of Dillards in North Park. Hope that helps :)
