Happy Anniversary, June 2012!

Choosing the images for these anniversary posts is fun every single month. I get to look back and where we were this time last year… I get to think about the amazing people we worked with. I FB creep on the ones I don’t hear from regularly. I’m so glad to know they’re all doing so well. The first year is always a transition, but it’s an adventure!

Happy First Anniversary to Maggie & Brenton!

Happy One Year to Keri & Patrick!

Congratulations on your first year together, Leslie & Garrett!

And finally, happy anniversary to Tarah & Matt!

May your next 50 years together get even more wonderful as they go!:)

George & Danielle AND Bristyn & Riley Got Married!

That’s right kids, a double header! This Monday you get double the sneak peek action… lucky you.:)

We started our weekend with George & Danielle at Brookhaven Country Club in Dallas, kicking things into high gear with bow ties and bright summer colors! We’ll share more from this wedding on Friday, but here’s a peek at the action…

And we finished up our weekend (and actually, finished the first half of our wedding year!) with Bristyn & Riley in Weatherford on Saturday. These lovebirds had a HUGE group of family & friends there to celebrate with them on their big day, and there was never a dull moment. More of our favorites will be posted here next Monday, but of course, we’ve got a sneak peek for you now.:)

Stay tuned later in the week for a new engagement session and more wedding prettiness! We may be slowing down for the summer, but we’ll never be without blog posts for you to stalk. Leave a comment and let us know you stopped by!

Allison B - LOVE both of their dresses! Bristyn’s kind of reminds me of my dress. Makes me want to do it all over again!

Carmen & Ryan : Wedding Pt. 2

Welcome back!

This weekend is a McG Double Header, as we celebrate with Danielle & George tonight, followed by Bristyn & Riley’s wedding tomorrow. And then… oh man… SUMMER VACATION!

We have one wedding at the end of July, and one in late August, but other than that, we’re taking a breather until the temps cool down (hopefully) in mid-September. We’re so looking forward to spending a bit more time with our kids & friends this summer, and coming back re-energized for an INSANELY busy fall season. Like, truly crazy in the very best way.:)So while the blog will likely slow down a bit pretty soon, we won’t be gone for good… rest assured we’ll always have at least 2-3 posts a week to keep your eyeballs busy throughout the long hot summer.

But enough about us… let’s get back to Carmen & Ryan!

Today, we’re picking up where we left off yesterday, just minutes after Carmen & Ryan were pronounced Man & Wife! If you didn’t see their Part 1 blog post, be sure to click on that link and check out alllll the gorgeousness.:)

Even when we have a great schedule that allows a lot of time for pre-ceremony portraits, like this wedding had, we still like to protect those few precious moments right after the I Do’s. That’s such an amazing feeling… finally married!!

This was such a great wedding party… thoroughly cooperative, and such fun!

The decor at City Club was classic & simple… just exactly like the bride & groom we were all there to celebrate!

Grandparents dancing at receptions turns me into a weepy mess!!

Carmen & Ryan, congratulations! Thank you for being such a blast to work with, and being so absolutely thrilled to start your lives together. It made our job easy.:)We hope you’re having a blast in Riviera Maya!

Carmen & Ryan : Wedding Pt. 1

About an hour before we met up with Carmen in her hotel room, I got a text message from her… “GO AWAY, RAIN!!!!” And hey, it worked! We ended up with beautiful weather for this classically gorgeous Dallas affair, and I ended up with too many images for one blog post. My inability to narrow things down is your gain, blogstalkers!

I said it on Monday, but I’ll say it again, this was one of our most easy, relaxed, smooth-flowing weddings in a long time. Carmen & I worked hard to put together an itinerary that worked best for her big day, and everything came together perfectly. Once the bride & groom were able to see each other, they both breathed a deep sigh, and set about enjoying the rest of their wonderful evening together.

But wait… I’m getting ahead of myself.:)Let’s start back at the hotel with Carmen!

I kind of died over the family heirloom brooch on the bride’s bouquet. Stunning!

We had just the right amount of cloud cover to make Belo Garden nice & gorgeous for this mid-afternoon First Sight… and of course, lots of honking & cheering from passers-by!

GORGEOUS. These are just so quintessentially Dallas.

The SMU campus is so gorgeous & green this time of year… no shortage of beautiful places for portraits!

There’s nothing like that special rush right before a ceremony…

The couple was married by the groom’s grandfather… it was so wonderful to see how much he loves them!

Mr. & Mrs. Tubbs!!

There’s LOTS more loveliness to come… be sure to tune in tomorrow for more portraits & a beautiful Dallas CityClub reception!

Once Upon a Time…

Once upon a time, there was a bride.

This bride said, “Chelsea, I don’t want my bridal portraits to be normal. I want to feel like a supermodel, and I want the session to maybe be a bit spooky, and I don’t mind if my dress gets dirty.”

The photographer cried happy tears of joy, because not only was the final idea spectacular, but the bride was one of the most beautiful women on the planet.

And then the day came, and they did the session, and it blew the roof off of everyone’s expectations, and victorious group hugs abounded.

But then… oh then… the photographer realized she had to wait FOUR MONTHS to show off her favorite images, because the groom can’t see the dress until September 28th. WOE.

Until then, we’ll just try to satiate ourselves with a few “dressless” sneak peeks of this incredible session. And no, that doesn’t mean Madlyn is naked!;)

Thanks to MegB, we got to do a few makeup changes during this session. This look is a little closer to a “wedding day” face…

and then BAM. Vamp time!!!

I can’t reveal ANY of the images we captured after dark… but hey, a shot of Mack and I in some spooky fog might get you a little more excited.;)

People, pray September comes quick. Otherwise your friendly neighborhood photographer might just combust!!

Mad - Oh man, what do I say?
You know what was one of my favorite parts of that evening? When Meg walks up with that ridiculously perfect veil, and is all like “I brought this, might be cool.”
Good Lord, you two women know me so well it’s scary! Willum is going to die when he sees the rest ;)

Loren - CANNOT WAIT!!!

June 5, 2013 - 5:52 pm

Lexi C. - Woah!! I can’t wait for the rest, can it be September already?!?

June 5, 2013 - 5:55 pm

bobbileigh - Wow, love her eye make up and the pictures are spectacular. Cant we have a password protected post or something so we don’t have to wait LOL.

June 5, 2013 - 6:08 pm

Willum Lackey - To whom it may concern: I am sorry for causing such heartache and anxiety over not being able to see all of the pictures, for it is I, Madlyn’s fiance, who is to blame for not being able to see any more pictures, because if you saw them, I’d see them, and then we’d have to get married today, because I already can’t wait to say “I do” much longer, so seeing full gown pictures would ensure we run away to the JP.

Signed,
Luckiest dude
