We originally announced a family mini session marathon to be held on November 17th of this year, and a boudoir marathon to be held on Oct. 27th. Well, the family mini session event sold out in like 4 hours, and while the boudoir marathon booked pretty solidly, we kept having Girls on Film clients change their minds and decide to book full sessions on other days! (Which is totally ok with me, by the way).
We decided that it would be a cryin’ shame to waste a perfectly good mini session day, so we offered up several of those openings to families on our waiting list, and had a jolly old time with them this past Sunday! We’re excited we have another round of families to look forward to in just a couple weeks.
One of the coolest parts of this marathon event was getting to play with some DFW Photographers’ families! It’s always such an honor when other artists ask us to photograph them… we take that SUPER seriously, and we made sure these pros had the same kind of gorgeous images they provide for their own clients.
The first of the photog families we saw was Havi, and her adorable husband & daughter. I mean, I hope it’s not offensive that I referred to BOTH the husband & the daughter as adorable, but it’s totally accurate. They’re just the cutest little family, and were so much fun to photograph!
Isn’t Nova just the most precious thing ever? She’s definitely one of the prettiest children I’ve ever photographed (that I didn’t birth myself).
Gray & Pink is such an awesome color combination, particularly when the backdrop is as green as it is at our studio right now! Beverly brought her daughter Chloe to our mini sessions last year, and knew she had to get some McG goodness again in 2013.
We photographed Elle & Patrick’s wedding in October 2009, and it was just a couple weeks after their 4th anniversary that they brought their precious twins to meet us! Katie & Grayson weren’t so sure about us at first, but they got over the fright eventually and we got some beautiful family portraits.
I couldn’t help but include this one… Katie’s stink face is EPIC!
Tiffany & Landon can’t just have yearly McG portraits… they came to the spring Mini session, and signed right back up for the fall event! We love seeing this little family so often, and their daughter Libby is such an absolute doll!
Poor little thing was just getting over an illness (isn’t EVERYONE? This month has been rough for that!), and got a little sad when her Mommy & Daddy went with Mack to take a few romantic portraits. Is it wrong that I just love this shot even though she’s sad?
Remember what I said about families coming more than once a year? Basically, you can copy & paste that for this next family, too… Tiffany’s sister & her family were smiling bright for us back in March, and did beautifully yet again! Heather & Chad’s boys are wild in the BEST way… they’re always fun to photograph, and a much-needed energy boost in my day!
We ended our day with another photog family, Elisa and her brood! Elisa will be taking our own family pictures in just a couple days, and we’re so looking forward to it. With four kids of her own, she ought to be a genius at wrangling just TWO McG littles, right??All four of her children were so amazingly well behaved, and the entire family just seems to love each other to pieces. They were the perfect ending to a long mini session day!
We always take time to get individual shots of each kid in a family. While I know Elisa probably takes portraits of her kids pretty regularly, I couldn’t help it… they’re just so pretty and I wanted to pose them!
Thank you ALL for coming out to play with us! It makes our hearts swell up to know that so many of you wanted McG family portraits this year bad enough to sit on a waiting list, and we’re so glad we were able to put a date together to shoot with you all. We hope you’re all as thrilled with the images as we are!
