Jan. 2012 Girls On Film Marathon Wrap Up!

It’s beginning to feel like 2012 is the year of boudoir for me (Chelsea)… I’ve got a dozen sessions on the books over the next two months! I’m really excited for the opportunity to shoot more of these portrait sessions. As I’ve said over and over again, I feel like it is SO important for us as women to really be able to celebrate the way we look, with the artifice stripped away.

One of the participants in the most recent marathon really brought home to me how important this can be. She talked about this kicking off a new season in her life… a season where she tried to remember every day how beautiful she really is. So often, I hear clients talk about how they need to lose weight, or wait until they’re more confident, to do a shoot like this. When really, the experience of a boudoir session can be just what you need to get that confidence level where it should be! A knowledgeable and experienced boudoir photographer can work with any shape and figure, and I’m so proud to say that my clients are all shapes and all ages. Every woman deserves to feel fabulous in her own skin!

Each and every one of the clients from last weekend’s boudoir mini-session marathon released one or more of their images to be shared on the blog… I’m thrilled to have such a big collection to show off today! I’ve always heard people say, “There’s nothing sexier than a confident woman,” but I’ve never really believed it. That is, however, until I did my boudoir shoot. Chelsea, what an amazing gift and talent you have. My session with you, from start to finish, was something truly unforgettable.

I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from the whole experience. The morning of, I had a lot of nerves swirling thinking about my shoot. I enjoyed playing “dress-up” and loved getting my hair and make-up done. I felt pretty and that’s something most women lose when they put everything and everyone before themselves. But even still, the thought of getting in front of a camera lens was a little unsettling. However, those nerves vanished quickly whenever I walked into the room and the laughter and fun started! You have the ability to make your clients feel confident AND comfortable. The direction and encouragement you gave was perfect and I was able to relax!

I am blown away by your work. The photographs are amazing and I am truly proud of them. I felt sexy, playful, and confident and you captured all of this perfectly. Not only do I have something amazing to give my special guy, but I also have something I can look back at years from now to remind myself that there really isn’t anything sexier than a confident woman!

And ALL you gorgeous women, thank you for making this marathon one of my favorites to date. The long day hardly felt like work.

I’ll be doing another mini-session marathon in the fall, and right now I’m researching possible new locations. Stay tuned… I plan to announce the date here around the second week in March. As always, the marathons are first come, first serve!
