Miss J and I both kept an eye on the weather in the week before her session, and the day before she drove 6 hours to see me, the weather looked PERFECT. We met up at 6 a.m. to start hair & makeup with the ever-amazing Meg B, and even as the dark clouds started rolling over the studio, I wasn’t worried. I kept my Weather Channel app pulled up, and it showed a ZERO percent chance of rain all morning.
But, obviously, the Weather Channel app lies.
When Miss J and I walked outside to start shooting outfit #1, I glanced at the sky and knew I’d need to abandon technology and go with my gut. And my gut said, HURRY.
We managed to shoot two outfits worth of gorgeous portraits before the sky unzipped, and then WHOA! The thunder & lightning & rain & craziness hit all at once! Miss J and I just looked at each other and knew… we had to go for it.
Through the drenching rain, there was so much laughter. This is one of my favorite boudoir shooting memories to date.
Thank you, J, for being SO adventurous and fun to work with, and for trusting me to capture your spirit this way. I can’t wait to do it again!!
Boudoir fans, don’t forget that first thing Monday morning here on the blog, I’m announcing a FLASH SALE! You won’t want to miss this!!
