over the moon — Jeremy & Christy’s wedding

That’s how she described herself, after marrying her best friend. She was, in her own words, “Over the moon.”

His words were a bit different, but the feeling was the same. He said his face hurt from smiling, but he couldn’t help it every time he looked at her.

Surrounded by the friends that know them best, Jeremy and Christy said their vows, and committed their lives to each other. Well, committed officially and legally. The thing is, Jeremy decided on Christy the first night he saw her.

No, really. Jeremy came home and told his roommate that he’d seen the perfect woman. Later, when he met her, it only solidified his belief. If there ever were two people more strongly suited for one another, I haven’t met them. They’re both hilarious, kind, and gigantically tall.

And now, they are married.

Just a little note: I’m trying something different with this blog, as far as presentation of images. Instead of many collages with small pictures, I’m going to feature a slightly smaller number of images… BIG.

Why? Because when I shoot, I shoot big. When I edit, the images are big. And when I imagine these photographs hanging on my clients’ walls, they’re always big. ;)

This will make the posts a little longer, but surely y’all don’t mind a bit of scrolling… right?

Without further yammering by yours truly, let’s check out some wedding pictures, shall we?

One of Christy’s bridesmaid’s actually attended Jeremy’s bachelor party the night before, and entertained the girls with hilarious pictures on her phone.

All day long, Christy had the kind of energy that’s showing in the picture below. All. Day. Long. It was awesome.

The groomsmen weren’t lucky enough to have professional prettyfiers on their team. But they still made it work!

Jeremy wears this hat all the time. That is not an exaggeration. I have a feeling it was a bit of a struggle to get him not to wear it during the ceremony! ;) I love the picture Mack caught of the infamous hat with Jeremy’s killer vest.

The girls MIGHT have been running a little late. And in this image, Jeremy’s dad MIGHT have been teasing him about a runaway bride. Just maybe…

Oooh, ties are so frustrating!

I’m kind of in love with this shot of Christy’s dress. And by “kind of”, I mean, “really really”.

The first time Christy’s Daddy saw her in her dress was so sweet. He’s a weeper. I love those… mostly because I am one.

Love the way Jeremy’s looking at Christy while he’s waiting for her Daddy to give her away:

I got two of the coooooolest pictures of Christy during the ceremony, working with the spotlights in their church. I tried very hard to get a matching shot of Jeremy, but the boy is just too dadgum tall, and I couldn’t make it work. Still, I think J will be just as pleased to have these two of his lovely bride!

Yes, we really do get this close during moments like the exchanging of the rings (venue permitting). Maybe we block someone’s view for a second, but the bride has the picture for a lifetime. And with a shot like this, personally, I think it’s worth the paparazzi treatment!

I love that the following moment was captured DURING Jeremy and Christy’s ceremony. They were so relaxed… totally themselves. I just love the comfort here:

I now pronounce you husband and wife!

wedding-19-kiss

A true “yay” moment between girlfriends…

Mack caught this recessional shot, and I love the interaction between Jeremy and his Dad. So fun!

A shot I sneaked during their quiet “we just got hitched” moment:

We had time for a few quick portraits between  ceremony and reception, and this is one of my favorites. I decided it’d been too long since I showed my blog readers a little “before and after” action, and this is a great shot to demonstrate the work we put in.

First, the original bridal party shot:

A few photoshop ninja moves, and we have this:

group-after

Pretty sweet, huh?

Then it was onto the reception, where Christy and Jeremy were greeted by more guests than they anticipated! Guess they’re more popular than they thought! ;)

Ooooh, I can’t forget to post this one. Christy’s a writer, and their guest book table was themed around these really nifty vintage typewriters. She’s a girl after my own heart… swoon!

Their cake/cupcake tower was just gorgeous:

I was able to use the cupcakes for really cool shots like this:

While the Maid of Honor was using them for really cool poses like this:

Speaking of bridesmaids, you guys are seriously my favorites. Next time you go on one of your road trips, can I come? ;)

Jeremy and Christy only left their reception to catch dinner… they met up with their bridal party (and photographers!) later that night for more partying!

Although we did this couple’s portrait session the morning after their wedding, so as to allow them the most possible time with their guests, I did get a chance to snap a quick shot of them between their ceremony and reception. The full color was pretty, but  I think the vintage treatment is so much more “them”. That’s what I’ll leave you with tonight…

Jeremy and Christy… kids… you know you’re gorgeous. We love you, and and loved being a part of your day.

Blogstalkers, stay tuned for shots from the photobooth we set up at J&C’s reception, and then later in the week, for their totally-on-fire-smokin’-awesometacular Morning After shoot.

Not that I’m excited about that, or anything…
