Get Out Of The Bedroom!!

In 2012, I have vowed to really step up my boudoir game. I’ve been proud of my work for a while, and I feel that’s valid… I provide really stellar portraits from women of all size, shape and age. Boudoir is simultaneously the most fun AND the most challenging part of my job, and I love it fiercely. I knew that this year, I wanted to push myself to go further, to do more, to be BETTER.

One of the things on my list was shooting more boudoir portraits outside the bedroom, and this past Sunday, I did just that! A group of three girls came in from out of state (for the third year in a row) to make Girls On Film part of their annual girls’ weekend. When their original loft location fell through, we had to scramble at the last minute to find an “out of the box” place for these sessions, and settled on the Orion Ballroom in Dallas.

Let me tell you, this was SO much fun! There’s not a bed to be found in the venue, but there are windows galore, chairs and couches, mirrors and views like you wouldn’t believe. The wide-open space allowed me to do more full-length standing poses, and get more creative with my lighting. We ran out of time before I ran out of ideas, which is my favorite.These sessions were just the creative push I’ve been needing, and I was over-the-moon estatic when I got permission to blog so many of these lovely images.

I would be remiss if I didn’t give credit for hair & makeup to the awesome artists who helped these clients prep for their big shoot. Our session was scheduled in the morning, so the Pretty Squad had to arrive at their hotel room before 6 a.m.! Thanks to Trish Corcoran and Micaela Soto for doing such incredible work.

One more note before we get down to the foxiness… these girls aren’t models. Nobody you’ve ever seen here on the Girls On Film blog is a model hired to shoot and release her images. That might be something I do in the future, if I want to try something new and need a specific look, but I promise, I will ALWAYS be up front with you about it. Everything you see here is an image of a REAL woman, a real client who booked a real Girls On Film session, shot by me… Chelsea.

And to wrap it all up, these three friends climbed up on a window sill and posed as “Chelsea’s Angels”. Seriously, I just have the coolest clients EVER!!
